Specialist Nutrition

Hi! I’m Liz McGregor, Nutritional Therapist, Naturopath, Lactation Consultant and Wellbeing Coach.

I have two key areas of focus – helping people recover their health from chronic illnesses (with adults) and preventing ill health in the first place (with mothers and babies)

Experience and Professionalism

I’m a  Nutritional Therapist, Naturopath, Lactation Consultant and qualified Wellbeing Coach, with Diplomas in Naturopathy, Nutritional Therapy, Business Analysis; a BSc in Psychology (Hons); am a member of the General Naturopathic Council and Lactation Consultants of Great Britain.

I began researching my own issues of chronic, debilitating eczema and multiple allergies when I was twenty. It took me fifteen years to find what combination of interventions worked – then I finally managed to get rid of the eczema permanently in fifteen days.

Along the way I learned so much about natural remedies for nearly every other health condition that eventually I decided to turn my passion into my profession, and trained as a Nutritional Therapist, Naturopath and Wellbeing Coach.

I had already qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to help other mothers and babies avoid the health issues I went through as a baby, so I also know a great deal about infant feeding, milk, disrupted immune systems and disease.

I am a member of two All-Party Parliamentary Groups, on the Human Gut Microbiome and Infant Feeding and Inequality and spent several years reviewing research and providing input to NICE guidelines.

My job is to give people the understanding on the most effective ways to take care of their body and mind, while coaching them into using their deep motivation to support the changes they want to make in their lives.

I share what I know, so that clients understand what they are doing and why, so that they can take the steps they  need to heal themselves.

Not only do I help clients address their existing conditions, I also work to prevent any other pain and illness from occurring.

My objective is to help people recover their health; improve their quality of life and live their best life possible.

Respite Services

Welcome to Serenity Respite, we are a respite service who provides you with a much-needed life-line and ways of coping so that you can successfully continue to care for your loved one(s). You can relax knowing your adult loved-one is receiving fantastic care and loving their time spent with us in your time of need, without you feeling guilty; whether that be you are taking a break from providing 24/7 care and have arranged planned respite to cover your short break, allowing you much needed time for yourself or maybe it is worst case scenario; any unpaid caregivers’ greatest fear, and your loved-one has had to come to us in your time of emergency.

Serenity Respite is owned by Helen Phipps Watson. Helen for many years was a Psychologist and professionally has always worked in a ‘caring’ setting, whether that be in the NHS, for a charity, in Practice, or as a manager, the common theme has always had a focus on the well-being of others. She has been an unpaid carer to her loved-ones since 2008 and full-time since 2011.

Helen’s passion is for the provision of outstanding care, and for the well-being of unpaid carers and their loved-ones alike; believing that fantastic respite care lies at the heart of it. This, coupled with the fact that she is certain that having respite care cover is the main factor in unpaid carers being able to carry on caring for their loved-ones; it is having this regular break from their caring role, especially when the respite care is amazing, that meets the needs of both the Guest and their caregiver.
